Six months out is when the details start coming into focus. If florals are not included in your package, this is the time to book your florist — the good ones fill up quickly, especially for fall and spring dates.
If catering is not included, schedule tastings now. Do not skip the tasting. What reads beautifully on a menu does not always translate to a buffet line for 150 people, and you want time to make adjustments. Your RSVP deadline should fall 4 to 6 weeks before the wedding so you have time to follow up with non-responders and give your caterer a final headcount. Most caterers need a guaranteed number 2 to 3 weeks out.
Finalize your seating chart, create place cards if needed, and prepare any day-of items — welcome bags for lodging guests, ceremony programs, table numbers, and signage.
